Love this! I'm FAR from the 1000 and honestly, I enjoy the daily interaction more than seeing the number grow. Now you're telling me the number stops growing 1 by 1 when you reach a certain amount? that's a bit underwhelming... We need more AI telling us what's the vibe in the comments, how the audience spreads, what's the most restacked sentence.... Does substack do that for over 1k ?
Thank you! I’m with you on that one, reading people’s comments and seeing the same people read and comment every week is what makes me want to keep writing. Building community I guess we could call it, even though I cringe a bit using that term. Seeing the number go up and stay up has been cool because I interpret that people enjoy my newsletter and decide to stay week after week, but yeah, I’m still the same person doing the same thing getting excited when people like, leave a comment, share or message me ❤️🩹
old tumblr quote I used to be obsessed with in my teens that came to mind while reading this: life is a journey, not a destination.
as clichê as it might sound, the older I get, the truer it feels. so I’ve been trying to instil in myself the idea that I need to seek fulfilment in the process. sure, I have goals and milestones, but if the way to get there is awful, will it really be worthwhile to pursue them?
of course, no journey is free of its hurdles and some level of hardship is part and parcel of any process, any life. the trick is finding that sweet spot where you are fulfilled enough to keep pushing through them.
okay, I think I need to go write a newsletter about this!
