I resonate so much with your experience! I was born in Spain from a Spanish mother and Chilean father, but I spent most of my life in Costa Rica. Although my accent is totally Costa Rican, I was always too Spanish to be Latina and too Latina to be Spanish. Fortunately I didn't experience the language barrier that separated your life into two parallel worlds - it must have been so hard!. I don't know about you, but every time someone asks me where I'm from I feel like entering fetal position and shouting _next question_.
hahaha, yes!!! Every time someone asks me where I'm from I have no idea what to say, I'm always like "where do I start?" and I guess in the end that shows that we're a total mix and that's cute too, but yeah, it's hard to explain to others :')
Thank you for sharing your experience! I used to teach English in Spain so it was always interesting seeing students with different backgrounds growing up Spanish. What part of Andalucía did you live in?? I
No me digas me preguntaba if you were near Campo de Gibraltar!! Viví en San Roque por un año! I taught English at José Cadalso ☺️ that was my first experience with Spanish culture and I’m so glad. Después Cádiz viví en Graná luego Galicia
Dios!!!!! Yo fui al Jose Cadalso jajajaja - what are the chances!!!!! That’s actually crazy! I was there 2015 I think and did bachillerato there. Granada is precioso y Galicia no lo conozco tanto. Qué guay!!!!
Omgggg what a crazily small world!! I worked there 2019-2020. Some of my colleagues were definitely your teachers (Como Alberto de geografía y LaLa jaja). So crazy!!
