No se como me encontré en este pagina pero I’m glad I did. I don’t usually read in Spanish because for all the fluency I have in understanding it (it used to my first language before it was beaten out of me in the 2nd grade when they decided to pull us out of the ESL program so that we could be “good Americans”), I’m not the most comfortable in reading or speaking it. But oh my, your writing is so beautiful and natural and it was just as if my mom was speaking to me in Spanish and my brain didn’t have to process it all. I simply understood. Just as I understand now what it is to make a home. I’m glad I stumbled upon this in the throes of my moving from an apartment with family/friends and back to my hometown while I transition to another apartment this fall. I already love Pomelo, but now I’ll come back to finish the Cuentos del Pueblo series, too <3
