Being able to share this experience with C. has been beautiful. Some of my closest friends are based in Madrid, or at least our meet ups so far have always been there. Him coming with me this trip was another level of special because it was the first time for him to get the opportunity to connect with my friends. Seeing all of your favourite people in one city getting to know each other and get along is a very wonderful feeling. I’m full of love.
Speciality (UK version)
Specialty (US version)
I love speciality coffee and cold brews on sunny days.
This woman loves me deeply and I love her back. She calls me on the way back from the gym to update me about her life. We send each other voice messages when things happen to keep the other in the loop. We met through English classes but were destined to become best friends. In another life we were sisters apparently, and I believe it. She’s one of my teachers and inspirations. I love you, Dora.
In this photo we were sat on some sofas in a museum, I’m not sure if we were allowed to sit on them but we did, and we talked and talked and talked.
The Madrid book fair deserves a whole POMELO that one day I will write. I’m still processing everything that happened and I need some time for it to all settle before being able to pick it apart but here am I, in front of stand n.20 with teary eyes where one of my all time favourite authors was signing books: Sara Mesa.
I saw her from a distance and cried my eyes out. I wanted to give her a very detailed speech about why I adore her writing but my brain went blank and all I could think of saying was “I’ve read all of your books, I love them all”. I cried and panicked at the thought of speaking to her, Gema took me aside and hugged me to help me calm down. Later on, I went back with my friend Isa and her sister Gema. Isa bought one of her books and asked Sara to sign it for Emily. It’s one of the most beautiful gestures someone has done for me. She got her own book signed to me, I love you Isa <3 I love you Gema <3
I never really had female friends growing up so being surrounded by so many amazing women is extra special to me. They inspire me, they love me, they support me, they help me, they would probably do almost anything for me and I would do exactly the same for them. I love them all so much.
Gratitude is all I feel right now and I’m floating on a cloud. See you next Monday at 7:34 a.m. ❤️
The female friend group moment was beautiful, Emily.
I adore my female circle so much. There's just this unexplainable and inevitable connection between females that makes our interactions and friendship so valuable and as precious as love.
The writing is wholesome, too! 💕
What a nice POMELO to read and feel recharged with all the energy and gratitude it radiates...
